Three Months Old!

Three months old now!  No doctor's appointment this month thank goodness!  I got on the scale with Dad and he estimated I weigh about 15 1/2 lbs.  I carry it all in my belly!

Going out to take Paul on a quick walk...you wouldn't be happy either if you had to wear a fuzzy suit with ears on it!

I love my ball - it's especially fun to stick my tongue through the holes!

Paul wanted to help with my photo shoot

I like looking at Paul now - I can't figure out why he looks so different from mom and dad!

Daycare update

I've got 3 days of school under my belt now!  Here's what I've accomplished so far...

  • 1 outfit change due to a diaper mishap
  • 1 cold (complete with a cough)
  • 1 three hour nap
Haven't really made any friends yet - still working on that!

Here's a pic from the other week of Dad trying to see if he can get me to throw up on his face...lucky for him, I held it together!

Bye bye bumpers!

Since I haven't been moving in my sleep, Mom left the bumpers up in my crib because they were just so cute!

Well on Friday night, I managed to turn myself 90 degrees in the crib.  So bye bye bumpers!  Now it just looks like a jail cell (and feels like that too, especially at nap time)!  Mom and Dad don't know what they are in for when I start rolling over!

You can see I was close to getting out of the swaddle too!

First Day of School!

Friday was the big day - my first day of school!  Mom and Dad had to wake me up to get ready. It took us a couple of trips to get the car loaded up - apparently I come with a lot of baggage!  Diapers, wipes, changes of clothes, bottles... and of course Mom and Dad's work stuff too!

Mom and Dad dropped me off with my teacher - her name is Ms Nona.  There was so much to look at in that room and lots of new sounds.  Some of the other kids must not have eaten breakfast before school because there were a couple impatient kids in there!  Ms Nona took me and carried me around and then Mom and Dad said bye.  I didn't cry and it didn't look like Mom did either.  I was worried about her...

Around lunchtime, Mom came down to say hi.  I was just getting ready to eat lunch though so she didn't stay too long.  Then Mom and Dad both came back at the end of the day to get me.  I had a good report card - ate all the food Mom sent for me, a few naps here and there, and no changes of outfits!  I fell asleep a couple times on the floor while I was playing and then the teachers moved me into the crib - I didn't like that at all.  Some regulation or something means that I have to sleep in the crib and not on the floor.  Haven't decided if I'm going to give in to that yet.

It was fun having two whole days with Mom and Dad, but I'm looking forward to getting back to school tomorrow.  There were some cute girls in my class that I've got to get to know!

Can you tell how excited I am for school?!

Here's Mom and I - her 3rd day back to work and my first day of school!

Bye Mom!

This week I've been getting up super early but not because I want to but because Mom and Dad have been waking me up!  Something about a trial run for the normal weekday schedule.  Monday and Tuesday, Mom and I just went back to bed, but today was different.  Mom and Dad both left in nice clothes, carrying computer bags (I almost didn't recognize Mom!).

I was supposed to go to school for the first time today, but I ended up staying home with Grandma for the day.  Dad had to go to Iowa to be with his family and Mom didn't think she could leave me at school without Dad there to help.  I get to spend tomorrow with Grandma too and then it's off to school on Friday!

Grandma knows how to get me to take a nap!

Grandma let me watch Sesame Street - I couldn't take my eyes off of it!

Happy St Patty's Day!

I got to celebrate St Patty's Day in style this year!  We went to a fun neighborhood festival.  Unfortunately I missed the first half because I took a nap, but I joined the party later, especially when I got to go into a bar with mom and dad!  Grandma and Grandpa Young came with us and so did the Watkins.

Rockin' the St Patty's Day tux!

No one woke me up to see the green fountain...

Dad got me a beer but I was too tired to drink it.  Interestingly, it had disappeared by the time I woke up...

Rylan Watkins is one of my new friends!

Fresh Air!

Mom finally figured out how to take me and Paul for a walk at the same time!  This means lots more walks!  Paul might be more excited than me though.  As you can see from the picture, I don't really care how I go for a walk - I end up asleep being carried or in the stroller!

This picture was from Wednesday - it was really cold so I had my winter hat.  With 70 degree temps this weekend, I'm going to get to wear my baseball hat instead.  Hello Spring!

As a funny point of reference, here's a picture of me the day I went home from the hospital.  I was wearing the same hat that I did this week for my walk.  Good thing winter is about over - I don't think that hat will be fitting me much longer!

Wednesdays with Grandma

For as long as I can remember, Grandma Young has been coming over and spending Wednesdays with me and Mom.  We cuddle, take Paul for walks, sing songs, play and sometimes just talk.  Most of the time mom is there too.  But sometimes she will leave me and grandma alone for a couple of hours.  She says something about me making quick errands take twice as long??

I heard that yesterday was the last Wednesday with Grandma for a while.  Not cool.  Next Wednesday mom has to do this thing called work (who knew she had something else in her world beside me?).  Apparently I'll be going to school with some other kids like me.

A couple of weeks ago, Mom and I visited Dad at his office and we went to my school to check it out and meet my teacher.  She seems nice enough but she's no mom or dad.  Luckily mom and dad will both be in the same building as me so if things get really bad, maybe they will come visit me!  Worst case, I'll just fake being sick and stay home with Grandma!

I wanted to wear proper office attire when we visited Dad at work...

Go Braves!

Mom and Dad got tickets to the Braves opening game.  But I heard them talking to Grandma and Grandpa about them baby sitting me that night.  What?  Does that mean I don't get to go?  I'm so ready to cheer on the Braves!

Take me out to the ball game and buy me some cracker jacks!

Sesame Street!

Mom got me a "new" toy at a consignment sale.  Ends up it might have been the best $2 she spent.  I love Big Bird and Cookie Monster!  Although Mom and Dad aren't convinced that this toy wasn't around when they were my age...

I even like to grab onto their feet all by myself!

Say What??

I've got lots to say people...and I just can't seem to fit my fist in my mouth.  You'd think with how loud I am, my mouth would be big enough!

Most people tell me I look like Dad.  There's no doubt that I'm taking after him in the vocal department!

Dinner Conversation

Mom and Dad are starting to figure out that I like to be a part of the action!  If they are eating at the table with friends, I want to be there too!  Unfortunately Mom and Dad and their friends have boring conversations.  This past weekend and the weekend before, I couldn't even keep my eyes open it was so boring.  I know it's rude to fall asleep at the table but I think I get a pass...

They caught me resting my eyes!

Two weekends ago I got to meet Emily and Mike when they came down from Nashville!

This past weekend I got to meet Meg and Vinnie when they visited from Charlotte!

As a side note, I slept 9 hours straight last night!  Mom had a smile on her face this morning!

Getting the Boot!

On Tuesday, Mom and Dad thought that I was a big enough boy to sleep in my own room by myself so they gave me the boot from their room.  I guess Paul doesn't have his own room because he still gets to sleep in their room with them.  But it's okay, because I like my bed and I've had no trouble sleeping by myself in my room!

The week before last, Mom and Dad bumped my bedtime from 10:30 to 8:30.  That has been okay with me as well.  I still get up at 2am and 6am regardless of bedtime.  I heard them saying it's nice to be able to watch a TV show straight through without any interruptions from me.  I guess Mom and Dad aren't going to bed at 8:30 with me.  I gave Mom a big surprise earlier this week when I slept until 5am!  She told me thank you for 8 hours of sleep - not sure what the big deal is there, but she seemed happy!  That was just a one time thing though...

Here's the bed I sleep in now!

All I see is letters above my bed, but Mom and Dad tell me that I'll get to see all of those letters in person sometime soon when we take a trip to Clemson!

Stretching it out one morning in my comfy bed!

Two Months Old!

I'm two months old now!  Hard to believe.  I feel like I've been here forever.  Mom and Dad were sneaky with how we celebrated 2 months.  First Mom and Grandma took me to Gymboree.  I had lots of fun - singing, tummy time, bubbles and another baby to look at!   Grandma took a video but I can't seem to get it to upload...maybe another day!

Here I am doing tummy time and looking at my new friend!

Then Mom and Dad took me to the doctor for a check up.  It started out fine.  First we confirmed what we all knew from my belly and double chin - let's just say eating well is not an issue for me.  I weigh in at 13 lbs 4 oz now and am 23 inches long!  It went downhill from there.  I had to take some medicine and then got stuck in the leg 3 times.  No fun!  Although I was so tired from Gymboree that I fell asleep right after the shots were done.  But I was not a happy camper later at home and I was no help to Mom or Dad in telling them if I was hurting from the shots or just tired!

My battle wounds - I got two band-aids on my upper thighs - no smiles here!
