She's Here!

My baby sister is here!  Her name is Clara and she was born on Tuesday Jan 20th!  She was even bigger than me when I was born - 9 lbs 5 oz!  I got to meet her in the hospital after school.  I gave her a present and she gave me one too!  I wasn't quite ready to hold her but I did think her little squeak sounds were funny and I gave her a hug.

Here we were Monday night - our last picture as a family of three!  And here's Mom on her last day having baby sister in her belly - 39 weeks and 5 days!

I was so excited about baby sister coming that I woke up early at Grandma and Grandpa's house!

Here she is - Clara Kay Hermansen.  Several people said we look alike - I think it's the nose.  It's definitely not the cheeks!

Here's Clara's first pictures with Mom and Dad...

Here I am giving Clara her cat and giving her a hug.  I'm pretty excited to be a big brother!

School Days!

In November I moved into a new class at school!  I'm still with my friends Connor and Emmaline and now Mason is back in the same class with us, too.  We do lots of fun things in this class - science experiments, try to use the potty, show and share with toys we bring from home, and lots of outside time (when it's not too cold).  We also learn letters and numbers.  I know that "A" is for apple and now I'm learning about "B".

I'm Two!

Right after Christmas I had my birthday and turned two.  I didn't even have a day off from opening presents - I think I had presents to open for 6 days straight!  A couple of people, including my friend Ollie, came over for some cake and to sing me Happy Birthday!

Mom and Dad got fancy with my cake and made it themselves.  They used blue frosting just for me!  Even the inside of the cake was fancy!

Ollie wanted to dig right into my cake - I wasn't sure sure about sharing it!

Here's Mom and Dad with the birthday boy!

I got some pretty good birthday presents but Mom and Dad did really good and got me my own bike (or motorcycle as I call it sometimes)!  I got a helmet with it too that I like wearing almost as much as riding the bike (it has a dump truck on it!).  I had to wait patiently while Dad and Grandpa put the bike together for me and then I was off!  (Well as fast as you can go in the house and without pedals!)

Great Grandma Alice came into town for Christmas and my birthday!  I was still a little shy but I made sure to do a group hug with her and Grandpa before she left!

Here's a video of my testing out my new bike for the first time!

Ho Ho Ho!

Anything Christmas related (Santa, reindeer, snowmen, etc) I like to call "Ho Ho Ho!"  Even though we moved one week before Christmas, Grandma Young make sure we had a Christmas tree with pretty lights.  I made sure the lights got turned on everyday!

I was in charge of telling Grandma where to hang the ornaments.  Paul helped too.  And then a picture in front of the finished product!

Santa didn't really bring me anything this year. That was okay since I didn't know until afterwards that he normally does, but I know now for next year!  I'll have my list ready!  But he did leave me a stocking with some pretty cool stuff in it - my favorite was my "monster" bag!  I filled that up with all sorts of things to carry around!

Here I am with a couple of my Christmas presents.  Can you tell that I'm into trucks?  I got other trucks, books and games!  I loved it all!

Mom and Dad tried to get Paul in our family picture, but he was as excited about it as me!

Here's a video of me opening up presents.  At first I wanted to make sure every bit of wrapping paper made it into the trash, but then I figured out the presents were way more fun!  I'm always up for opening up a present now!

My New Room!

Mom and Dad are still trying to unpack a couple of rooms in the house but I don't mind because my room is done!  Well, maybe they could put a few more things on the walls for me, but I'll cut them some slack...

I've got some recycled furniture in my room but that's okay.  Mom said the dresser used to be her's when she was little and that Grandpa built it for her.  And Dad built the bookcase for Mom at our old house.  I think it works pretty good for my books and toys!  Grandpa Young built me a border around the room and there is even a shelf on one of the walls!

And I have a big boy bed now - it even has dump trucks on it!

I'm just hanging out in my dump truck...not causing any trouble at all!

Sister Update!

It seems like all we talk about these days is baby sister!  But that's okay because I like to talk about her too...  From what Mom tells me, she'll be here one week from today!

Big Brothers Rock!  (That's me!)

I like to give sister hugs and kisses in Mom's belly!

I've been practicing my diaper changing skills on my animals and doll!  Hopefully Mom will let me help some with baby sister...

Look at baby sister growing in Mom's belly!

Moving Day!

A week before Christmas (and when my baby sister was 35 weeks old), we moved to our new house!  I woke up in the morning in my old house, went to school and then came home to our new house!  There were lots and lots of boxes in it.  I had already picked out my room so I knew just where to go.  Not only did I have a new room, but I got a new big boy bed too!  It is much higher off the ground and big enough for Mom or Dad to lay with me while I go to sleep.  That first night I slept all night by myself in my big boy bed.  Mom and Dad got a bigger bed for the new house too.  They finally decided that a bigger bed was needed to fit them, me, Paul and soon baby sister!  It makes for a fun hang out!

Here's our first family selfie in the new house on moving day!

I was a big help in the unpacking process!

Here's our last family picture in front of our old house!  It was the house where I grew in Mom's belly, where I came home from the hospital to, where I took my first steps, and lots of other firsts for me!  I'll miss it but there will be lots more firsts in the new house - starting with being a family of four!

Getting Ready for Christmas!

At the beginning of December we took a family outing after work to see some Christmas lights!  I thought they were all so beautiful.  I saw all different colors and pointed them out to Mom and Dad.
The light show took place at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.  I walked almost the entire way all by myself!

The model train area was my favorite.  There were all sorts of choo choos going and they were just my size!

But I liked the water fountain and its lights too!

And there were dancing lights - I did some dancing of my own to the music!

Had to give Dad a big hug in front of the Christmas tree made of lights!

I made a friend with the frog statue (I was showing everyone how frogs go "hop hop").  I wasn't such a fan of the big hay dog though...
