Dad was done with work so our last day in NYC was all four of us! Our big adventure for the day before heading to the airport was getting to see the Statue of Liberty up close!
Our hotel was near Times Square and on our way to the subway, we ran into a couple of superheros!
To get to the Statue of Liberty, we had to take a ferry there!
Can you see her behind me? Getting closer!
We had tickets to climb to the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty! We had to go up a bunch of steps to get there. No problem for either of us! Here we are under the Statue of Liberty at from the pedestal!
It was windy high up on the pedestal!
Before we went back down all the steps, we took a picture inside the statue!
Another picture from the bottom of the statue!
I had a fun time visiting the Statue of Liberty!
After we finished at the Statue of Liberty, we went back to get our things from the hotel and headed to the airport! We didn't get to see much from the car ride...
Clara can't quite say "liberty" but she was excited about the sightseeing trip!
And I missed the part of the tour that said the statue is a girl!
We woke up rested and ready to explore the second day! Dad still had work meetings so it was still just Mom, Clara and I for most of the day!
We rode on the subway a lot this day! From our hotel all the way down to the south side of NYC. Lucky for me, it was pretty empty so I didn't have to sit still much!
Our first stop was the Staten Island Ferry terminal!
We took a ride on the ferry to Staten Island and then made it just in time to hop back on the next ferry back to NYC!
It was tiny, but I could see the Statue of Liberty!
It was a pretty relaxing ride!
Then it was off to explore Central Park! Mom said there are 39 playgrounds in Central Park - we only had time to see 1 of them! Guess we need to go back for another visit...
There was a giant rock that we climbed up!
And we spent time on the swings!
We even put on our swim suits to play in the water features at the playground!
We discovered a carousel in Central Park!
And it worked out perfect for Dad to meet up with us right before we went to find the carousel!
It was another busy day for sure!
Here I am in action on the subway! Good thing it was empty!
I was also able to practice my balance on the subway!
This was a new (and awesome) type of swing for me! Talk about dizzy!
I definitely could have spent more time climbing on the big rock mountain!
Dad had to go to New York City for work so Mom and Dad decided to make it a mini-family vacation! It was a quick trip - we only stayed for 2 nights - but we definitely made the most of it and got to experience a lot of the city! We can't wait to go back! For our first day, Mom, Clara and I flew to NYC first thing in the morning. We had to take the subway from the airport to our hotel. Dad was working so we explored by ourselves until he finished and met up with us for dinner.
I was a subway pro! Clara needed some practice to get used to it!
We finally made it to the hotel and need to rest our feet while we waited to get the key!
The view from our hotel room was awesome! I've never seen a city so big!
Our big adventure for the day was to visit the American Museum of Natural History!
We got so see all sorts of cool things! Highlights were some of the animals and of course the dinosaurs! Not real ones of course...
We spent some time in the kids area and did some of the learning activities!
We even got to dig for fossils and try to put a dinosaur together!
Our last stop in the museum was the famous blue whale exhibit! It was gigantic!
We sat down under the blue whale to watch a movie about sharks...we didn't quite get to see the whole thing. But Mom got to watch it about 10 times while she sat with us!
We were pretty grumpy when we woke up from our "nap" but Mom knew how to make us feel better!
Dad met us at dinnertime and we found a restaurant where we could sit outside to eat!
It was a long day! Clara and I didn't mind snuggling up in the small bed!
