Zoo Fun!

We finally did an actual outing and met up with some friends at the zoo!  It was a lot of girls and Owen!

First stop is always the flamingos!

We met up with my Pre-K friends Genevieve and Maggie (and their little sisters)!

The remodeled African Plains area was open so we got to see the elephants' new home!

The zoo is like the beach or a hike - it's always snack time!

Here's our sweet and cute faces (with the bears behind us)!

And our silly faces!

We had to wait in line to see the pandas so we took the time to ask the zoologist all of our questions!  She was very patient and answered them all!

The pandas were so cute!

The tiger was excited to see the tiger!

How fitting that I rode the tiger and Owen rode the panda bear on the carousel!

The petting zoo wasn't open but it was still fun to see the goats and the sheep!  I'm sure they miss all of us petting them!

We took a ride around on the train!

Owen decided he had enough of the girls so he sat by himself at the front of the train!

Can you tell who the statues are and who the real kids are?

Neighborhood Friends!

Since we weren't go anywhere, we built some close friendships within the neighborhood!

Owen, Cade and I each set up a "store" to sell things!

Basically anything in the garage was up for grab in our "stores"!

The Kona Ice truck came through the neighborhood for a birthday party and we were sure not to miss it!

With our neighbors Mila and Colette, we went on a "trip" - Owen was the driver!

I had a playdate with one of my friends Liz!

The treehouse became a good place to set up some chairs and shade to relax!

Or the backyard worked for that as well!

Owen and Cade set up their "stores" again - this time they put some better thought into the layout of their stores!

Park Playdate!

We had a park playdate with Grandma B and Grandpa Mark!  It was a beautiful day to hang out outside together!

All smiles to see Grandma and Grandpa!

Mom came with us to enjoy the morning at the park, too!

We brought our bikes to the park with us!

We practiced our cartwheels!

Some of us are better at cartwheels than others!

It was fun to spend time together!

After School Time!

We had Ms. Ivory with us during the day, but after school was over, we were on our own for the afternoons while Mom and Dad finished work!  After screen time, we managed to keep ourselves busy!

Owen passed his reader books on to me since I'm learning to read!  We try to read 20 min everyday!

We received a new Uno game - Uno Flip!  It can lead to some intense games!

Sometimes we ended up in the basement - building hot wheel ramps and playing hair stylist were some of our creative ideas!

One afternoon, we practice the Pledge of Allegiance (while sitting under umbrellas)!

Dress up and make up is pretty standard for me!

Owen practiced using Mom's fancy camera to take pictures of me as Elsa!

Grandpa Mark installed a pulley system on our treehouse so that led to new games!  And Owen got a new Lego set to build.  I was his assistant and helped him find the pieces he needed!

Sometimes I had a rough day at virtual school and those afternoons usually included a nap for me to recharge!

Here we are practicing the Pledge of Allegiance!

Here's the beginning of my reading journey!

First Day of School!

It wasn't quite the typical first day of school this year!  Owen started second grade and I started kindergarten.  I didn't get to practice riding the bus or go to kindergarten camp to get familiar with my new school.  But I was still ready to start digitally!

Even digital, we still have to do our first day of school signs!  Owen is still set on being a ninja!

I want to be an astronaut!

For my first day of kindergarten, I wore the exact same dress as Mom on her first day of kindergarten!  And even more special was that Grandma B made the dress!

We had our "classroom" all set up and ready for us!

This is what digital learning looks like!  We both had awesome teachers that did a great job of getting to know and connecting with us through Zoom!

Ms. Ivory came each day to help us with anything we needed while we were doing digital learning since Mom and Dad were working!

It took some adjusting to how tired our brains got from digital learning!
