Holiday Baking!

When it got to be December, we were all about some holiday baking!  It might have been all of the baking shows we've been watching...

First Dad and I made some really good sugar cookies!  We used royal icing to decorate them and then shared some with our neighbors!

Then we made some homemade dog treats!  Jessie really enjoyed them, but she was okay to share some with her doggie neighbors, too!

The most exciting baking was a homemade gingerbread house!  Dad made all the pieces for it and then glued it together with frosting.  Then we went to town decorating it!

It was serious business in our house for a while!

Here was Owen's half that he decorated!

And here was my half that I decorated!

Thanksgiving and a Birthday!

We did lots of our traditional Thanksgiving activities but then this year was special because we also had a birthday party!

While the turkey was frying, we made doughnuts in the fryer and played football!  I may or may not have gotten powdered sugar all over me!

Owen wore himself out playing and fell asleep right before Thanksgiving dinner!

We started eating without Owen but we did wait for him to wake up to take our Thanksgiving picture!

Someone was still a little sleepy!  And it wasn't me with my orange soda!

And it wasn't Lennox - she was too excited about her first Thanksgiving!

We made sure to make time to celebrate Lennox's first birthday!  Uncle Skylar made her a cake of her own to investigate!

I think she did a pretty good job of figuring out the whole cake thing!

After cake she got to open her presents - Owen and I showed her how to do that!

And of course it's not Thanksgiving without family pictures!

Us kids made it hard enough so we didn't even try to get the dogs in the pictures!

Here's the whole crew looking nice!

Surprise - we were in our Zoom clothes!

Grandma B and Grandpa Mark with the best grandkids around!

Grandma B got us all matching pajamas so we made sure to coordinate!

Even Owen's monkey George made the picture!

Overall, it was a relaxing and fun trip!

Family Time at Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving was extra special this year because of the new additions!  Our cousin Lennox was with us and Jessie!  Since Uncle Skylar and Aunt Nichole were still living in Atlanta, their dog Thomas joined us, too!  We went to Brevard, NC - a little different location from most years, but it was still pretty close and the house (and yard) was perfect for our family!

We showed up and I was so excited!  We had this whole field for ourselves and it was fenced in so the dogs could run with us, too!

Look at Jessie go!

It's impossible to keep us contained!

The pool table served many purposes - one of which was a place to pose for pictures!

Here's Grandma B and Grandpa Mark with their grandkids!

We all quarantined before the trip to make sure we could give lots of hugs when we were together!

Jessie didn't have any trouble figuring out what to do at Thanksgiving!

Clara and I couldn't get enough Lennox squeezes!

Lots of good relaxing time!

Hard to believe Clara was as small as Lennox at one point!

We made turkey cookies with Grandma B and guess who wanted one?!

Clara was excited to see some toys she used to have again when Grandma B brought them on the trip for Lennox!

We are very good at making Lennox laugh (and distracting her from eating)!

We filled out our Thanksgiving Turkey by writing what we are thankful for this year!

More relaxing time - reading new stories and sneaking away for screen time in my closet room!

Grandpa Mark brought Clara a gigantic art set - she didn't waste any time getting drawing!  I practiced making balloon animals!

We found ways to entertain ourselves, too!  The orange soda was a huge treat!

It wasn't hard to find Clara!

We went on a hike to a waterfall with Grandpa Mark and Mom!  And Jessie, but we couldn't get her in our selfie!

Grandpa and I ventured behind the waterfall and then Clara joined us!

It was a beautiful waterfall and I didn't miss a chance to climb up some rocks!

Jessie was an okay hiker but she was an excellent sport for some fun!
