We had our annual tradition of celebrating our half birthdays in the summer! Grandma B and Grandpa Mark came over to celebrate with us, too.
Dad made us a mint chocolate cake! It was even better with mint chocolate chip ice cream!
We each had our turn to blow out our candles!
Then it was time for presents! Pop Its were the big hit for both of us!
Then we found our big presents in the playroom! Neither of us could believe that Clara got a giant Barbie house! My Nerf gun was awesome, but not as big as the house!
We sometimes watch the TV show called Nailed It! and we came across an opportunity to try it ourselves at home! We were supposed to be on a Zoom call with the hosts (and other participants) while we did the challenge, but it wasn't working... So we set our own timer and went to work!
We had to roll out fondant and of course taste the buttercream frosting!
The finishing touches were the most important part!
We finished within the time limit!
What we were trying to make...
And what we made...Nailed It!
Our neighbors Mila and CC did the challenge with their family at the same time so we got together afterwards to compare our results!
Clara and I tried something new over the summer - the Smyrna Sharks swim team! It was a month of swimming every morning and by the end of the month, we were both swimming freestyle and backstroke pretty well!
On Saturdays we had practice "meets" where we swam both freestyle and backstroke the length of the pool. It wasn't quite a competition but was still good practice!
Our neighbor friend Hadley did swim team this summer, too!
Here I am doing my freestyle! Everyone thought it was impressive that I could breathe on both the left and right sides, but it was just the easiest thing for me to do!
Here's Clara's freestyle!
And here's my backstroke! It's harder than it seems to swim backwards in a straight line!
