We had lots of fun but eventually the trip had to end and we had to say good-bye to the house and our family...
We took one last group picture before we all went our separate ways!
Clara was all ready to head home! Not sure that she realized she was missing her pants though - she got pretty used to hanging out in her underwear during the week!
Cousin Jake managed to get a picture with us!
And Clara had one last hug for Grandma and Grandpa!
Our last full day at the lake house in Wisconsin was filled with all sorts of fun!
Mom and I started the day off reading some stories in our PJs!
Then we walked to the local park! We always love to explore a new playground!
They had these cool, bouncy things to ride on!
And of course swings! Owen was Superman!
We were headed outside to set up an obstacle course and came across a frog! (If you can see the black think on the stairs - that's the frog). He hopped away from us pretty quick!
We got the obstacle course set up and had fun timing ourselves running through it. Wylie got in on the fun, too!
I got tired and guess what the obstacle tunnel had? A tag!!
I woke up from my nap and found out that Owen had gone for a treat! He got Superman ice cream!
Dad tried to relax but the 3 of us weren't going to let that happen!
Who's trouble? No trouble here...
We spent some time outside in the afternoon and Owen rode the trike around the basketball court. The rest of us just watched!
Owen and I showed Wylie how to do a puzzle and taught him the alphabet!
Later in the day, Owen gave fishing another attempt. No fish were biting and he just about fell asleep!
Here's the action that took place on the basketball court! Owen figured out the bike he got from Santa at Christmas early in the week and got pretty good at riding it!
The next day we drove over to the Wisconsin Dells where there was a huge water park!
Owen and I stuck to the kiddie areas for the most part. The water slide was just the right size for us!
There were splash pads and water chutes and fountains - so much water!
We had lots of fun! We even got to go on 2 big water slides with Mom and Dad. The first one was in a tunnel and completely dark. We all sat together in a big tube. Owen and I were in smiling at the end but I think it was only because we were in shock! Then we went on another one but it wasn't in a tunnel. It was okay but I didn't like how high up on the sides we went. Owen did though and he went again with Dad!
We didn't play hard at all... Let's just say I don't remember getting out of the parking lot!
Our fourth day in Wisconsin was 4th of July - America's (and Aunt Laura's) birthday!
We had to start the morning by saying good-bye to cousin Josh! 😢
Then we got to do a fun craft that Aunt Laura brought - we painted our own fireworks!
During the day, we went to a festival at the park (and won suckers) and then to the parade through the town!
There were all sorts of trucks and vehicles in the parade! And so much candy - it felt like Halloween!
When we got back to the house, it was time for a watermelon snack! Our favorite!
We showed Wylie how to eat watermelon, too! He didn't quite understand not to eat the green part though...maybe next year!
Dad cooked everyone an all-American dinner of burgers and hot dogs!
We even had a couple of celebrations during the day! First for Aunt Laura's birthday with a cake that Grandma Pam made. And then for Grandma and Grandpa's 50th wedding anniversary. They've been married a long time!
We shared our suckers with Grandpa!
When it got dark (before fireworks), the grown ups lit lanterns on the dock and let them float away to celebrate Grandma and Grandpa!
It was pretty, but we didn't last long because there were too many bugs! And the fireworks were starting so we had to watch those!
